Embarrassment \Em*bar"rass*ment\, n. [F. embarrassement.]
1. A state of being embarrassed; perplexity; impediment to
freedom of action; entanglement; hindrance; confusion or
discomposure of mind, as from not knowing what to do or to
say; disconcertedness.
