   resuscitare; pref. re- re- + suscitare to raise, rouse. See

   {Resuscitated};p. pr. & vb. n. {Resuscitating}.]
   To revivify; to revive; especially, to recover or restore
   from apparent death; as, to resuscitate a drowned person; to
   resuscitate withered plants.
