   1. The quality of being rapacious; rapaciousness;
      ravenousness; as, the rapacity of pirates; the rapacity of
      wolves.

   2. The act or practice of extorting or exacting by oppressive
      injustice; exorbitant greediness of gain. ``The rapacity
