Friendship \Friend"ship\, n. [AS. fre['o]ndscipe. See {Friend},

   1. The state of being friends; friendly relation, or
      attachment, to a person, or between persons; affection
      arising from mutual esteem and good will; friendliness;
      amity; good will.
