perhaps fr. OHG. g?hi swift, rapid, G. g["a]h, j["a]h, steep,
hasty; or cf. OHG. w?hi beatiful, good. Cf. {Jay}.]
1. Excited with merriment; manifesting sportiveness or
delight; inspiring delight; livery; merry.
