Farinose \Far`i*nose"\, a. [L. farinosus: cf. F. farineux.]
   1. Yielding farinaa; as, farinose substances.

   2. (Bot. & Zo["o]l.)Civered with a sort of white, mealy
      powder, as the leaves of some poplars, and the body of
      certain insects; mealy.
