Whirl \Whirl\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Whirled}; p. pr. & vb. n.
{Whirling}.] [OE. whirlen, probably from the Scand.; cf.
Icel. & Sw. hvirfla, Dan. hvirvle; akin to D. wervelen, G.
wirbeln, freq. of the verb seen in Icel. hverfa to turn.
