Vacillate \Vac"il*late\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Vacillated}; p.
   pr. & vb. n. {Vacillating}.] [L. vacillare, vacillatum; cf.

   1. To move one way and the other; to reel or stagger; to
      waver.
