Tarsometatarsus \Tar`so*met`a*tar"sus\, n.; pl.
   {Tarsometatarsi}. [NL.] (Anat.)
   The large bone next the foot in the leg of a bird. It is
   formed by the union of the distal part of the tarsus with the
   metatarsus.
