   slik; akin to Icel. sl[=i]kr, and OE. sliken to glide, slide,
   G. schleichen, OHG. sl[=i]hhan, D. slik, slijk, mud, slime,
   and E. slink. Cf. {Slick}, {Slink}.]
   1. Having an even, smooth surface; smooth; hence, glossy; as,
