   schuddern, D. schudden to shake, OS. skuddian, G. schaudern
   to shudder, sch["u]tteln to shake, sch["u]tten to pour, to
   shed, OHG. scutten, scuten, to shake.]
   To tremble or shake with fear, horrer, or aversion; to shiver
