Predatory \Pred"a*to*ry\, a. [L. praedatorius, fr. praedari to
   plunder, fr. praeda prey. See {Prey}.]
   1. Characterized by plundering; practicing rapine;
      plundering; pillaging; as, a predatory excursion; a
