Pita \Pi"ta\, n. [Sp.] (Bot.)
      (a) A fiber obtained from the {Agave Americana} and other
          related species, -- used for making cordage and paper.
          Called also {pita fiber}, and {pita thread}.
      (b) The plant which yields the fiber.
