Penurious \Pe*nu"ri*ous\, a. [From {Penury}.]
   1. Excessively sparing in the use of money; sordid; stingy;
      miserly. ``A penurious niggard of his wealth.'' --Milton.

   2. Not bountiful or liberal; scanty.
