   dim. fr. L. morsus a biting, bite, fr. mordere to bite; prob.
   akin to E. smart. See {Smart}, and cf. {Morceau}, {Mordant},
   {Muse}, v., {Muzzle}, n.]
   1. A little bite or bit of food. --Chaucer.
