hack up
     
         To {hack}, but generally implies that the result is a
        quick hack.  Contrast this with {hack on}.  To "hack up on"
        implies a {quick-and-dirty} modification to an existing
        system.  Contrast {hacked up}; compare {kluge up}, {monkey
        up}, cruft together.
