        /goz'maks/ Gosling Emacs.  The first {Emacs} implementation in
        {C}, predating but now largely eclipsed by {GNU} {Emacs}.
        Originally {freeware}; a commercial version is now modestly
        popular as {UniPress Emacs}.  The author (James Gosling) went
        on to invent {NeWS}.
