   Fierce; savage; wild; indicating cruelty; ravenous;
   rapacious; as, ferocious look or features; a ferocious lion.

         The humbled power of a ferocious enemy. --Lowth.

   Syn: {Ferocious}, {Fierce}, {Savage}, {Barbarous}.
