Deposition \Dep`o*si"tion\, n. [L. depositio, fr. deponere: cf.
   F. d['e]position. See {Deposit}.]
   1. The act of depositing or deposing; the act of laying down
      or thrown down; precipitation.

            The deposition of rough sand and rolled pebbles.
