Ashamed \A*shamed"\, a. [Orig. a p. p. of ashame, v. t.]
Affected by shame; abashed or confused by guilt, or a
conviction or consciousness of some wrong action or
impropriety. ``I am ashamed to beg.'' --Wyclif.
