Xiphidium \Xi*phid"i*um\, n. [NL., from Gr. ?, dim. of xi`fos
   sword.] (Bot.)
   A genus of plants of the order {H[ae]modrace[ae]}, having
   two-ranked, sword-shaped leaves.
