Cowberry \Cow"ber`ry\ (-b[e^]r`r[y^]), n.; pl. {Cowberries}
   (-r[i^]z). (Bot.)
   A species of {Vaccinium} ({V. Vitis-id[ae]a}), which bears
   acid red berries which are sometimes used in cookery; --
   locally called {mountain cranberry}.
