A tribe of neuropterous insects which includes the caddice
flies; -- called also {Trichoptera}. See {Trichoptera}.

Trichoptera \Tri*chop"te*ra\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. tri`x,
tricho`s, a hair + ? wing.] (Zo["o]l.)
A suborder of Neuroptera usually having the wings covered
with minute hairs. It comprises the caddice flies, and is
considered by some to be a distinct order.
