Scaleback \Scale"back`\, n. (Zo["o]l.)
   Any one of numerous species of marine annelids of the family
   {Polynoid[ae]}, and allies, which have two rows of scales, or
   elytra, along the back. See Illust. under {Ch[ae]topoda}.
