   The state or quality of being reluctant; repugnance; aversion
   of mind; unwillingness; -- often followed by an infinitive,
   or by to and a noun, formerly sometimes by against.
   ``Tempering the severity of his looks with a reluctance to
   the action.'' --Dryden.
