Prunella \Pru*nel"la\, n. [NL., perhaps from G. br[ae]une
quinsy, croup.] (Med.)
(a) Angina, or angina pectoris.
(b) Thrush.
{Prunella salt} (Old Chem.), niter fused and cast into little
balls.

probably so called from its color resembling that of prunes.
