Palola \Pa*lo"la\, n. [Fr. the native name.] (Zo["o]l.)
   An annelid ({Palola viridis}) which, at certain seasons of
   the year, swarms at the surface of the sea about some of the
   Pacific Islands, where it is collected for food.
