Marsdenia \Mars*de"ni*a\, n. [NL. From W. Marsden, an English
   author.] (Bot.)
   A genus of plants of the Milkweed family, mostly woody
   climbers with fragrant flowers, several species of which
   furnish valuable fiber, and one species ({Marsdenia
   tinctoria}) affords indigo.
