Karpholite \Kar"pho*lite\, n. [Gr. ? rice straw + -lite: cf. F.
   carpholithe.] (Min.)
   A fibrous mineral occurring in tufts of a straw-yellow color.
   It is a hydrous silicate of alumina and manganese.
