Holostei \Ho*los"te*i\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. "o`los whole + ? a
   bone.] (Zo["o]l.)
   An extensive division of ganoids, including the gar pike,
   bowfin, etc.; the bony ganoids. See Illustration in Appendix.
