Hemipeptone \Hem`i*pep"tone\, n. [Hemi- + peptone.] (Physiol. Chem.) A product of the gastric and pancreatic digestion of albuminous matter. Note: Unlike antipeptone it is convertible into leucin and tyrosin, by the continued action of pancreatic juice. See {Peptone}. It is also formed from hemialbumose and albumin by the action of boiling dilute sulphuric acid.
