   cotton), D. voos spongy, fungous, G. faser filament. E. feaze
   to untwist.]
   Fine, light particles or fibers; loose, volatile matter.

   {Fuzz ball}, a kind of fungus or mushroom, which, when
      pressed, bursts and scatters a fine dust; a puffball.
