Epiornis \Ep`i*or"nis\, n. [NL.: cf. F. ['e]piornis. See

   One of the gigantic ostrichlike birds of the genus
   {[AE]piornis}, only recently extinct. Its remains have been
   found in Madagascar. [Written also {[AE]pyornis}.]
