Cincinnati epoch \Cin`cin*na"ti ep"och\ (Geol.)
   An epoch at the close of the American lower Silurian system.
   The rocks are well developed near Cincinnati, Ohio. The group
   includes the Hudson River and Lorraine shales of New York.
