Chloranil \Chlor`an"il\, n. [Chlorine + aniline.] (Chem.)
   A yellow crystalline substance, {C6Cl4.O2}, regarded as a
   derivative of quinone, obtained by the action of chlorine on
   certain benzene derivatives, as aniline.
