Astrict \As*trict"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Astricted}; p. pr. &
   vb. n. {Astricting}.] [L. astrictus, p. p. of astringere. See
   {Astringe}.]
   1. To bind up; to confine; to constrict; to contract.

            The solid parts were to be relaxed or astricted.
