Araneous \A*ra"ne*ous\, a. [L. araneosus, fr. aranea spider,
   spider's web.]
   Cobweblike; extremely thin and delicate, like a cobweb; as,
   the araneous membrane of the eye. See {Arachnoid}. --Derham.
