   (Anat.)
   The postero-inferior opercular bone, in fishes.

Peplum \Pep"lum\, n.; pl. E. {-lumus}, L. {-la}. [L.]
   A peplos. Hence: An overskirt hanging like an ancient peplos;
   also, a short fitted skirt attached to a waist or coat.
